External Coaching

Manager External Coaching

Manager Coaching is designed for organisations who believe a strong team is critical for success, and who recognise that people are their greatest assets.  Learning organisations need to create environments where supervisors are able to test out new ideas that they might otherwise avoid, and conversely help people to avoid things that are poor practice.

144 executives and middle managers from a Fortune 500 company participated in an experiment to the effects of an executive coaching program on important performance psychology variables related to leadership development (Moen, F. & Skaalvik, E., 2009).  Findings indicate that there are significant effects of external coaching on psychological variables affecting performance such as self-efficacy, goal setting, intra-personal causal attributions of success and need satisfaction.

Coaching provides a confidential environment where participants can speak openly about their issues and commit to setting new directions that will advance their approach.  Often people have had negative feedback that pre-disposes them to avoid new approaches.  Our coaches can help a person re-evaluate their options and build the confidence to explore new strategies.

While training is effective at establishing a framework for skill development it doesn’t guarantee implementation.  Research suggests that integrated leadership development programs are much more effective than ‘one off’ processes.  The initial enthusiasm to action is soon dissipated in the face of ‘back at the office’ routines.  This program provides a terrific way to maximise outcomes from training and apply strategies and tools to your own setting in order to achieve the changes you want.

External Coaching is an economical and critical addition to the professional development of leaders, assisting them to maintain current practice standards and knowledge and strengthen their focus, productivity, and influence with staff.

The process occurs in partnership with the ‘line manager’, and is provided through ‘one on one’ or ‘group’ sessions with an experienced coach.  Our package also includes access to your coach between sessions and regular reading and resource material to foster ongoing learning and interactions with colleagues.

Clinical Coaching/Supervision

Working with individuals and families with complex needs requires high level skills from staff, and organisations have enormous expectations to ensure accountability and high standards of quality service.  It can be difficult for line supervisors to provide adequate time to maximise skill development and offer expertise in complex individual and family intervention.  External consultation is a powerful addition to the daily support provided in the workplace.

Organisations and their staff want a range of professional development activities to maintain current practice standards to improve service delivery.  This program is targeted at staff of health and community organisations working in casework, clinical or community-based roles.  The program provides a continuous one-on-one and group professional development opportunity for practitioners who want to have regular support to develop their knowledge and skills.  External consultation gives practitioners the opportunity to access supervision by professionally qualified and contracted supervisors.
